Everything about the project

The long answers, in one place — for anyone deciding whether this is for them, and for whatever they asked to get here.

What is the Hammock Hotel Project?

A hammock camping project in the Philippines. Hammocks are carried to a spot in nature, strung between trees, and people sleep in them for a night or several. The group sings and dances through the evening. It is not a hotel, not a campsite, not a company and not an address — it moves, and the page says where it is.

Where can I sleep in a hammock under the trees in the Philippines?

Wherever the project is at that moment. The current spot and the ones coming up are published on the home page with the city and the nearest landmark. The exact coordinates open on your own page once you join.

Do I need my own hammock?

No. The hammocks belong to the project and are already at the spot. That is the whole idea: you arrive with yourself and your things, and a hammock is already hanging.

How much does it cost?

Four hundred pesos per person per night is suggested — support that keeps the project moving.

How many people come?

As many as there are hammocks, and that number is whatever can be carried — 20 at the moment. The page shows how many are free right now.

How do I join?

One form, once. Pick a published night, fill it in, and your own page opens with the exact spot on it. After that, joining again is a single tap.

Can I bring someone?

Yes, while a hammock is still free. Add them from your own page and they become a member too, with their own page.

What if every hammock is taken?

The form stays open as a waitlist. When a place frees, it is offered to whoever is first, and it is theirs once they claim it — nobody is added without acting.

What should I bring to a hammock night?

Water, an LED light and spare batteries, a light blanket, insect repellent, shoes you can walk in and a dry bag for your phone. Each published spot also carries its own short list — a warm layer for a ridge, repellent and sandals for a river.

How do I get there?

Each published spot says how: which jeepney, habal-habal or tricycle, roughly what it costs and roughly how long it takes from Dumaguete.

Is there an age limit?

Eighteen and over.

Is there a fire?

No. The light is LED lanterns and batteries, which is kinder to the place and leaves nothing behind.

What happens if it rains?

The night is called off and everyone on it is told, with the reason. The places go back and the next published night is unaffected.

Is it safe?

Nature is nature. Everyone joins at their own responsibility — snakes, insects, weather, water, the ground, the trees, your belongings and your health. The project carries no liability for anything that happens on a night.

Where exactly is it tonight?

The page shows the city and the nearest landmark to anyone. The exact coordinates are never published — they open on your own page the moment you join, as plain numbers, a Plus Code, map links and a file you can keep offline.

Can I come more than one night?

Each published spot carries its own run of nights and you join it as published. Staying on beyond that is a word in person.

How do I find my page again?

Put in the email you joined with on the join page and it opens straight away.

How do I leave?

Cancelling frees your place at once and closes the project to you for good. Removing yourself erases your name, picture, email, number, country, line, nights and posted pictures entirely. Both are on your own page, and both say exactly what they do before you confirm.

What languages does this work in?

Every page is published in each of the site's languages, and members are written to in the one they chose when they joined.

Where has the project been?

Only the current spot and the ones coming up are published. Past locations come down, because what matters is where to find the group next.

Can I use the pictures and the poster?

Yes. The share page has a link, a QR code drawn in the page itself, a poster you can print at A4 or A3, and hand-outs: three slips on one A4 sheet.

Other ways people ask for this

All of these land on the same project. Written out so a search engine, and an assistant answering for someone, can see that they mean one thing.
